vstmd is an editorial comparison of paid food experiences inside cities. The current selection covers three experiences: two in Rome and one in Porto, with more cities added as each one is checked. It is a starting selection, not a complete inventory or a claim that these are the best experiences in either city.
Where the information comes from
Starting prices, durations, inclusions, guide language, cancellation policies and reviews come from the English Civitatis product records documented on 21 October 2026. Each experience links to its source. These are dated research figures, not a live API feed. The current provider page may show different prices or review counts.
The price-per-hour calculation
Starting price in EUR ÷ reference duration in hours. We round to two decimal places. For example, €19.60 ÷ 3 hours = €6.53 per hour for the Trastevere tour. Its advertised range is 2–3 hours; the recorded reference duration is 3 hours. A starting price may depend on date, age or option. Compare the same booking conditions on the provider’s website.
What our labels mean
- Most reviewed in this selection: the largest documented review count among the displayed products with a rating of at least 9.0/10.
- Lowest price per hour: the lowest calculated price per hour among products rated at least 8.5/10 with at least 20 reviews. The sorting control orders all products by their calculated rate.
- Shortest in this selection: the shortest listed reference duration among the displayed products rated at least 8.5/10.
- Hands-on: the product description explicitly says you prepare the food.
Each product receives at most one editorial label. Labels describe this small opening selection, not a city-wide award. A tie is resolved by the larger review count.
Reviews need context
Review figures refer to the English-language product records in our research. They must not be combined with review totals from other language versions. We do not collect reviews, manufacture testimonials or claim to have tried the experiences.
What we leave out
Out-of-city day excursions, free tours, attraction tickets and general city itineraries are outside this site’s scope. Dietary suitability is only stated when explicitly confirmed by the provider. Missing information stays missing.
Updates and corrections
The date beside each comparison identifies the underlying research. New prices or product changes require a fresh source check and an updated record. Figures are rechecked by hand and each record shows its date.
